The Jeepster Commando is a compact-sized recreational vehicle produced by Kaiser Jeep from 1966 until 1970. Kaiser-Jeep launched the Jeepster Commando and the Jeepster Sports Convertible in 1966 for model year ’67. It bore a familial resemblance to the CJ-5, but it was larger, more refined and more versatile. Its internal designation was C-101, a reference to the 101-inch wheelbase, and all versions shared the same body sporting the Jeep seven-slat grille, steel half doors and either a removable or folding top. The new Jeepster Commando was designed to compete with the International Scout, Ford Bronco, and Toyota Land Cruiser.
